Miss Rose attended Baypath College where she received her B.A. in Elementary Education, and her M.S. in Special Education. She is teaching first grade at SJA this year and has experience teaching kindergarten through fourth.

Miss Grondin graduated in 2004 from Lasell College with a Bachelor's Degree in Child Development with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. She has her Master's Degree from the College of Our Lady of the Elms in Education Studies. She has 18 years of teaching experience.

Mrs. Debra Sherburne lives in Holyoke with her husband, daughter Sage and 3 dogs named Nina, Bumblebee and Cricket. She graduated from Elms College and Umass and has been a teacher for 30+ years.

Taylor Mercey - Gr. 3

Ms. Mercey graduated from Our Lady of the Elms College with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is currently working on obtaining her masters degree at Bay Path University. Before teaching here, she taught English abroad in another country! She is interested in reading, traveling, and learning new languages. She carries with her the motto, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”

Ashley Skawinski - Gr. 4

Mrs. Skawinski graduated from Bay Path University with a B.S. in Accounting and from Western New England University with an M.B.A. She previously taught in Springfield and most recently in East Longmeadow, working with children of all ages. Outside of teaching, she enjoys attending Thunderbirds games, DIY projects, and traveling, as well as spending time outdoors with her husband and two young boys, Blake and Boone.
Mrs. Skawinski is a 2005 graduate of St. Joan of Arc School.

Mr. Boisvere earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Nichols College in Dudley, Mass and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from UMASS Amherst. He taught both High School and Middle School Math in Volusia County Florida for 17 years.

Mrs. Fitzgerald grew up in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. She attended Jacksonville University in Florida and graduated with a B.S. in Exceptional Student Education. Mrs. Fitzgerald taught Special Education in Florida, Agawam, Holyoke, and Springfield.

Ron Oparowski - Middle School Team

Mr. Oparowski graduated from the University of Hartford with a BA in Special Education. He has worked with a variety of student populations including students with severe developmental delays, behavioral challenges, as well as middle and high school aged students. Ron lives in South Hadley with his wife and two boys Griffin and Brody, who are students at St. Joan of Arc School. His interests include reading, golfing, cooking and gardening.

Mr. Gilberti is a 2023 graduate of Westfield State, with a degree in History Education. He is currently working on his Masters in history. His interests include reading, watching movies/tv (especially if it involves history), and practicing karate.

Isaiah Rivera- Computer Teacher /IT

Mr. Rivera is the Technology Teacher at SJA, bringing a background in instructional design, user experience, and frontend development. He is passionate about empowering students with essential digital literacy skills and fostering creativity through technology. Isaiah holds a degree in Human-Centered Computing from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Originally from the area, he is dedicated to supporting students' growth and preparing them for success in a technology-driven world.

Jaromy Green - Music - Pre-k - 8

I've been teaching music to individuals and classes for over a decade, working with people from every walk of life and in every corner of the USA. I hold true the belief that everyone has music inside them and strive to bring it out! My education culminated at Southern Connecticut State University, but wove between different schools, accolades, and institutions, spanning the West Coast to East and fifteen years. I've sung on American Idol, the All-Northwest Honors Chorus, the American Boy Choir, and more - and, I've had students compart their voices similarly, using the talent we fostered together in achieving musical heights beyond what can be expected.

Mrs. Nuala Sullivan went to Fitchburg State University, Smith College and UCONN. Mrs. Sullivan has worked with many different populations in the realm of social work including counseling, supporting and helping students navigate social/emotional learning.
